What is gram weight?
Gram weight is generally used to indicate the thickness of the fabric. The bigger the gram, the thicker the clothes. T-shirt weight is generally between 160 grams to 220 grams, too thin will be very transparent, and too thick will be muggy, it is better to choose between 180 and 280 grams. (t-shirts with short sleeves are usually 180-220 grams in thickness, while long-sleeved T-shirts generally choose 260 grams of fabric.
What is count?
The number of yards of the length of cotton yarn with a definite weight of one pound. The higher the count, the softer. The T-shirts are usually 21 and 32.
Coarse yarn: Cotton yarn of 18 or less, mainly used for weaving thick fabrics or cotton fabric with pile and loop.
Medium count yarn: pure cotton yarn of 19 to 29 counts. Mainly used for general requirements of knitted clothing.
Fine count yarn: Cotton yarn of 30 to 60 counts. Mainly used for high-grade knitwear.
What is combing?
T-shirt cotton yarn can be divided into carded yarn and combed yarn. Carded yarn refers to the yarn spun by the carding process, also known as uncombed yarn. Combed yarn refers to the yarn produced by using high-quality cotton fiber as raw material and increasing the combing process than ordinary combed yarn. The surface of the fabric is neat and soft.
What are the T-shirt printing?
T-shirt printing is basically divided into screen printing and transfer printing.
Screen printing: the technology is relatively complex, mainly including design, film, printing, and drying. The advantages of screen printing are high color fastness, durability, and washing resistance. The cost of screen printing plate making is high, so mass production is needed to reduce the cost, which can not meet the requirements of single or very small batch printing.
Transfer printing is also known as hot stamping. The advantages are bright colors and simple technology. The disadvantage is that the pattern’s durability is poor, not resistant to wear, and not washable.
What is singeing treatment?
Singeing treatment is to remove the hairs formed by unwound and protruding fibers on the surface of the yarn so that the fabric is more polished and beautiful, and the fabric is evenly colored and can be printed with a clear and fine pattern.
What are the advantages of pure cotton fabric? Why should we add spandex?
Cotton fabrics are characterized by good hand feel, comfortable wearing, and environmental protection, but easy to wrinkle. Adding a small amount of spandex can significantly change the physical properties of the fabric, greatly increasing the elasticity of the fabric, while maintaining the texture and comfort of pure cotton. In addition, adding spandex to the collar can prevent the collar from loosening and deforming, and keep the lasting elasticity of the collar.
How many kinds of T-shirt fabrics are there?
Ordinary pure cotton fabric
Casual T-shirts are made of plain cotton, which is comfortable but not as crisp. Easy to wrinkle, easy to deform after launching.
Mercerized cotton fabric
With cotton as raw material, mercerized cotton fabric is made into high-woven yarn through worsted spinning, and then through special processing processes such as wool burning and mercerizing, it is made into bright, soft, and wrinkle-resistant high-quality mercerized yarn.
The high-quality knitted fabric made from this material not only completely retains the excellent natural characteristics of raw cotton, but also has a silky luster. The fabric feels soft, absorbs moisture, and has good elasticity and droopiness. With rich color and comfortable wearing, it fully reflects the wearer’s temperament and taste.
Pure cotton double-mercerized fabric
Pure cotton double-mercerized fabric is a pure cotton product of “double burning and double mercerization”. Using mercerized yarn made from singeing and mercerizing as raw material, the designed pattern fabric is quickly woven by a CAD computer-aided design system and CAM computer-aided production system. After burnishing and mercerizing again, a series of finishing is carried out to produce high-grade knitted fabric with clear texture, novel pattern, bright luster, and smooth hand feel, which is better than mercerized cotton, but the price is a little expensive.
Washing
Printing T-shirt
- Printing position can not pull, do not rub, or twist.
- Do not iron the printing bit to prevent the printing from falling off.
- The elasticity of rib fabric is good, and the printing position is easy to fall off when it is pulled too large.
Stretchy T-shirt
- Elastic fabric should not be ironed at high temperatures to prevent damage to fabric elasticity.
- Do not bleach, which will damage the elasticity of the fabric.
- Some elastic fabrics are woven with core-spun yarn. The yarn is fluffy and the cloth is plush. Be careful not to be too heavy when washing to prevent excessive fuzz.
- Do not expose to the sun to prevent the elasticity of the fabric from being damaged.
Lightweight cotton T-shirt
- Do not be overweight when washing, and do not wash together with other thick clothes to prevent deformation, overweight, hook, and scratch, and it is best to wash alone.
- The light and thin fabric have a sparse structure and low elasticity, so pay attention to prevent hard objects from hooking yarn when wearing it every day, resulting in holes.
- Lightweight fabrics are easy to deform, so be careful not to pull too much when you wear them.
T-shirts of other fabrics
Jacquard fabric
Because its organization is looser, the fabric has a long floating line on the reverse side, do not wash it with other thick clothes, or clothes with zippers, to prevent hooking, and abrasion of fabric. Because of the floating line on the reverse side, do not reverse wash this clothing.
Viscose knitted fabrics (such as modal)
Soft to the touch, lighter and thinner, these fabrics have lower wet strength and are prone to original fibrillation pilling in water, so they can only be machine washed gently and not too heavy.
